A 25-YEAR-old man found with a significant amount of the drug ice in his car allegedly spat on police and had to be calmed with pepper spray in Bathurst on Tuesday morning.

The man is due to front Bathurst Local Court on Wednesday to face court on a string of drug, robbery and resisting arrest charges.
Police attached to Bathurst Highway Patrol spotted the man driving a stolen Mitsubishi ASX in Havannah Street about 9.30am on Tuesday.
Police will allege the male driver hastily pulled into a driveway where he was spoken to by officers.
“An officer attempted to arrest the male for the stolen vehicle offence and the male allegedly resisted,” a police spokesperson said.
“Another officer arrived and assisted with the arrest.
“Whilst attempting to arrest the male he allegedly spat on both officers a number of times and kicked them a number of times, violently resisting arrest.
“OC Spray was used to control the male and he was eventually handcuffed and secured.”
Police said a subsequent search of the stolen vehicle uncovered a significant amount of illicit drugs.
Officers seized 44.2 grams of the drug ice which was allegedly located in canisters in the driver’s foot well while on the seat of the vehicle police located small amounts of amphetamine (speed) and cannabis.
Numerous sets of scales, packages of small deal bags and mobile phones were seized as exhibits.
“The male was conveyed to Bathurst police station where he was charged with supply prohibited drug greater than the indictable quantity; 5 x possess prohibited drug; drive conveyance without consent of owner; never licensed person drive vehicle on road; assault police officer in execution of duty and resist officer in execution of duty,” the spokesperson said.
“He was bail refused to appear at Bathurst Local Court on Wednesday.”
