The SS Owners Club of NSW is holding its fifth annual state titles in the city and for the next three days members will take in the sites of Bathurst.
Club president Dwayne Godber said members will becoming from across the state, and also right here in Bathurst, to take part.
“On Friday we’ll do an observation run around town, on Saturday we’ll do a mountain cruise around the Mount [Panorama] and then 200 cars will be at the show and shine,” he said.
Hosted at Paddy’s Hotel, the show and shine will be open to the public and the day also features motorkana and slalom events.
Bathurst man Chris Gauci, who is a founding member of the club, is among those taking part.
It’s probably the history of the Holden, it’s an Aussie icon and it’s got a lot to do with Peter Brock and his history.

He will drive his pride and joy – a 2003 VY SS ute – during the weekend’s activities and he confessed he has long loved the SS Commodore range.
“It’s probably the history of the Holden, it’s an Aussie icon and it’s got a lot to do with Peter Brock and his history,” he said.
“They don’t make a V8 SS anymore.
“I really do look after it and protect it and I’ll pass it onto my son.”
Mr Gauci said the SS Owners Club of NSW was very family friendly and he welcomed the community to come along to Paddy’s Hotel on Saturday to check out the cars.
The events run from 9am until 2pm and spectators are welcome by gold coin entry.
