Member for Bathurst Paul Toole met with the members of the organising committee on Tuesday at the Bathurst Agricultural Research and Advisory Station to deliver a total of $45,000 in funding.
It was made up of $25,000 from the Heritage Near Me program and $20,000 from the Incubator Event Fund.
“The Heritage Trades Committee has established a fantastic opportunity for people to see these dying arts in a self-guided tour over two days in May,” Mr Toole said.
“This funding will assist in the promotion of the event and cover the costs of the logistics in bringing such a major attraction on the local calendar to reality.”
Heritage Trades Trail convener Sandy Bathgate said the funding would be very helpful.
The money from the Incubator Event Fund will be spent on advertising to promote the event, predominately in Sydney and the Blue Mountains, while the Heritage Near Me funding will enhance the event itself.
"The money will be used for logistics: hire of equipment, tents, cartage, costs associated with all the different artisans - many of them have fairly hefty expenses in travel and moving their gear here - as well as fees to various performers," Mr Bathgate said.
He said the event was only held for the first time in 2017 and the committee is excited to be bringing it back for another year.
"The Heritage Trades Trail was first held last year. It was a great success; it was held across a number of heritage venues and precincts in Bathurst and we had about 50 rare and traditional trades and craftsmen demonstrating what they do.
"Because of the success of last year, we decided to run it again and council have got in behind it and supported the idea to help drive visitation to Bathurst under the Destination Management Plan."
This year's event will be held in six locations and feature between 60 and 70 artisans, some coming from as far away as Queensland and Victoria.
It will be held over the weekend of May 12 and 13.
