Their latest win came against an All Saints’ College team who showed a lot of spirit across all quarters but lacked that consistent entry into the Collegians’ circle.
Collegians claimed a 48-22 win, coming home with a similar margin to their 58-31 victory over All Saints earlier in the season.
Winning coach Melissa Noonan said her slightly understaffed squad played a consistently strong game of netball.
“They did really well. We had two of our A reserve players come up today because we had four girls away. Maddison Brown and Taylor Noonan stepped up to have a go in A grade in did a really good job,” she said.
“It’s great to have those younger players at the club who are able to come through and help us out.
“They played all four quarters well. It was a very good game for us.”
Collegians’ shooting might not have been at its best on Saturday but the team were masters at continually creating scoring opportunities.
Whether it be through forcing turnovers or their accurate passing their game was too much for the Saints to match.
All Saints kept running into trouble inside the Collegians’ third of the court but their persistence reaped valuable points.
“They’re coming along really well,” Noonan said of All Saints.
“Their coach Cassie Pearce has done a great job in bringing these girls up to A grade and getting them ready for this competition. That’s no easy feat.”
In the other games the Panthers and CSU Thunder contest didn’t go ahead while Mana got their revenge over Bulldogs Verdelho.
Bulldogs had won their first clash of the year 35-29 but in another closely fought day of netball Mana turned the tables with a 49-41 win.
In next week’s matches Panthers play Mana, All Saints and Bulldogs look to bounce back in their meeting and Collegians look for their next winning moment against CSU.
