Seager, who played 19 games in premier league this season, was honoured at the club’s presentation night on Friday night, alongside Luke Bain, who received the players’ player award.
He was presented with the Dave Scott Medal, after a massive shift in the middle of the park, inspiring his side’s massive momentum swing in the second-half to overcome a 10-0 deficit.
Panthers went on to defeat hosts Cowra Magpies 12-10.
Panthers president Dennis Comerford said Seager has been a consistent hard worker for the club, not just in 2018, but in previous seasons as well.
“It’s just been the usual Brent Seager – the work horse of the team,” he said.
“He’s the sort of front rower that can give you a 70 to 80 minute effort. Because of his efforts, that’s why he keeps being rewarded with the best and fairest.
“That’s probably why he’s only missed out on the award only one or twice in the past 10 years.”
As well, Comerford also praised Bain’s progression through the grades in 2018.
“He started the season out in under 18s and then he was elevated into first grade,” he said.
“He played really well, exceptionally well actually.
“He basically picked up the players’ player in the last three games of the competition because of his performance and the other senior players obviously appreciated it.
“It was a great effort for a player, who was playing under 18s, to pick up the award in the top grade.”
As well, Comerford said it was great for the club to celebrate the Group 10 premier trophy, alongside the under 18s trophy.
“I’ve been at the helm of the club for 10 years and it was starting to look that I might never get a first grade premiership,” he said.
“To come away with it this year was a great effort from the boys. There’s a lot of excitement and buzz around the club, with the under 18s premiership as well.”
