Drivers who have partnered with Uber in Bathurst are expected to start accepting rides from 3pm tomorrow.
Bathurst will be one of six regional cities in NSW to welcome the app, along with Orange, Coffs Harbour, Tamworth, Wagga Wagga and Port Macquarie.
“We’re thrilled to bring ride-sharing to Bathurst, providing another safe and affordable option for locals to get around,” Uber head of cities Natalie Malligan said.
Uber is set to complement existing transport options in the Bathurst community and expand the region’s public transport sector.
More than 3.8 million Australians use the ride-sharing service regularly, and 2018 alone has seen hundreds of thousands of app opens across regional communities.
