Race-goers were treated to lovely weather - with track conditions rated a soft five - on Anzac Day, for the seven-race meeting
Club general manager Michelle Tarpenning said the turnout was amazing.
"Last year we had 4000 and this year, I think we had more," she said.
"Again, very similar weather, but everyone has turned out to commemorate Anzac Day and support the club, which is fantastic. It's just a wonderful thing to put on for the Bathurst community."
The ever-popular Fashions on the Field was back, with Ms Tarpenning saying there was some fantastic competition
"The Fashions on the Field was out of the ball park, amazing," she said.
"It's another element of the day, as well as the live music and two-up."
Come the feature race, it was Turcotte who won the Bathurst RSL Club Soldier's Saddle.
It was the fifth win of Mudgee-based Cameron Crockett-trained gelding.
Bathurst's only hope for the feature was Heeby Freenly, trained by Paul Theobald.
He was unable to win, finishing seventh, after the seven-year-old gelding led coming into the home straight.
All up, 10 horses featured in the main race, with Heeby Frenly finishing over three lengths behind the winner.
For $151-odds, it was an impressive run from the 54-race veteran, who has just managed two wins.
