Ms Covington-Gorst, 20, was awarded Western NSW Trainee of the Year at an event in Orange last Friday celebrating the 2019 NSW Training Awards.
Since commencing employment with Devro two years ago, Ms Covington-Gorst has grown into a role requiring her to liaise with a host of global clients.
"With my job, there's never a normal day at work," she said.
"I deal with clients everywhere from the United Kingdom to the Czech Republic, and the global reach of the job never fails to make my work day interesting."
Ms Covington-Gorst started at Devro working in production, before transitioning into a full-time IT role.
During her traineeship, she completed a Certificate III in Information, Digital Media and Technology through TAFE NSW Bathurst.
Ms Covington-Gorst said she's grateful for all the support received in her chosen career path.
"The support I've received from both Devro and Skillset has been astronomical," she said.
Ms Covington-Gorst is now in the running for the NSW Training Awards state finals in September.
