Meg Allan and Mike Foxall are exponents of a global underground movement often referred to as "Lowbrow Art" or "Pop Surrealism", where viewers are more likely to see a skull, mythical creature or cult movie character than a traditional landscape or still life.
Despite the idiosyncratic subject matter, Allan and Foxall's work is described as deeply personal, deliberate and proof that beauty and meaning can be found in many places.
The exhibition, Psychedelic Noir, will run from this Friday, July 5 to Saturday, July 20 at T.Arts Gallery at 80 George Street.
The opening night will be this Friday, July 5 from 6pm and Allan and Foxall will conduct an artist talk this Saturday, July 6 from noon.
The exhibition will run for the duration of the Bathurst Winter Festival, which brings many visitors to town.
An online catalogue of works will be available during the show at www.tartsgallery.com
