Predictions show the rain will start on Friday and continue through until Tuesday for most locations.
Areas in the east of the region could see the most rain, with up 70 millimetres possible in Lithgow and around a 70 per cent chance of rain each day.

Mudgee could see up to 45mm across the five day period, with Friday set to be the wettest day with a 90 per cent chance of up to 20mm.
Bathurst and Orange could each see up to 35mm each by Tuesday.
Dubbo could see up to 25mm of rain, but the rains there are predicted to finish by Monday.
There is a 90 per cent chance of rain on Friday and Saturday, while the likelihood of rain drops on Sunday and Monday with easing showers and up to 5mm possible each day.
