New records were set in a total clearance of 1499 store cattle sold by the Midwest Angus Group grossing more than $1 million on Thursday at the Bathurst saleyards.

The auction which realised $1,030,493 and averaged $687.45 which was a local store sale record.
Clifton Thompson Maher stockman, Charlie Maher said the quality of the yarding was just as big a feature of the day as were the prices paid by buyers.
"The quality was evident and there was an equally good response by buyers crowding the yards seeking top breeding lines," Mr Maher said.
"There were volume buyers from Gloucester and Maitland in the Hunter Valley and equally strong competition from western and north western areas of Gunnedah and Dubbo, as well many local restockers.
"Two of the biggest buyers were agents Wesfarmers of Merriwa buying for Gumridge Station and Bowe and Lidbury of Maitland bidding for Brightling Park."
Mr Maher said an outstanding line of 15 Angus cows with second calves at foot offered by vendors L and J Roberts, Chr(39)IrongroveChr(39), Portland sold for $1360 to Peter Milling and Co, Dubbo.
Another pen of five-year-old Angus cows with calves by a Karoo bull made $1110, sold by vendors Davey Angus stud, Tarana.
Pregnancy tested cows were sought after with a pen of 11 sold by DN and SJ Balcombe P/L, Cudal selling to P and D Hennessy for $1000.
Gumridge purchased three pens of KM Cullen and Co, CoonambleChr(39)s August 1999 drop out of Neranghi cows by sons of Jolt 5Y, PTIC to a son of Te Mania Kelp for $1020.
Heavens Reach P/L, Chr(39)DerowenChr(39), WollarChr(39)s 63 heifers two and a half years old pregnancy tested in calf to a son of Dulverton Grant for an eight week calving from April 6, sold for $850 to Gumridge.
While Bob and Marie Stathem, Chr(39)New Haven ParkChr(39), Portland sold two year old heifers, Goonamurra blood PTIC to Karoo bulls to calve in August, for $815 to Brightling Park.
Other purchases by Brightling Park were $810 for rising two year old Pine Creek blood PTIC heifers to a low birthweight Litchfield (Cudal) bull, sold by Frank and Helen Bishenden, Chr(39)AmberdeenChr(39), Blayney.
Local agents Bowyer and Livermore purchased two outstanding mobs of young Angus cattle, Bob SommervailleChr(39)s Chr(39)AtholChr(39), Blayney April-May 2000 drop heifers for $520 and Dalgonally, Cudal steers for $550.
Elders secured a top mob of young steers for $545 and Bob SommervailleChr(39)s heifers for $560.
