Kelly Lee Ryan, 21, of Bayly Street, Gulgong has pleaded guilty to taking and driving a police paddy wagon, causing $8000 damage to the 4wd, impersonating a police officer as well as reckless and furious driving while unlicensed on March 1, 2001.
Ryan appeared in custody before Magistrate, Gail Madgwick, after being refused bail at Maitland and when she previously appeared before the same magistrate at Mudgee soon after her arrest.
It was Ms Madgwick who commented that Ryan's offences were "bizarre", throwing a paint tin through a window breaking into Gulgong Police Station to access keys to a police wagon, phoning police to say she was driving to Mudgee to surrender, before trashing the vehicle and leading police on a chase to Singleton.
Ms Madgwick refused Ryan bail in Mudgee and again yesterday in Bathurst because of the nature of the offences.
The magistrate earlier likened what happened to something from a "Monty Python" movie.
Ms Madgwick previously ordered a psychiatric assessment and yesterday asked Ryan about her progress, since being detained in custody. Ryan indicated she was progressing.
Ryan's solicitor, Steve Flynn, made submissions yesterday for more detailed pre-sentence reports. Ms Madgwick granted a further adjournment of the case until Tuesday, June 19, at Bathurst.
