Ewen, 26, of Crete Street Oberon, was overpowered before he could plunge a kitchen knife into the man he had earlier fought with but a man who intervened was stabbed and later received 38 stitches in the hand.
Ewen pleaded guilty in Bathurst Local Court to malicious wounding after the June 15 attack but his solicitor, Warwick Gilbertson told the court Ewen had no recollection of the incident.
Mr Gilbertson tendered photos of Ewen's badly bruised face to the court as he said Ewen had been in "an altercation" with his intended target earlier in the night.
After the fight Ewen was evicted and taken to the Oberon Police Station from where they took him to Oberon Hospital.
"They were so concerned about his condition," Mr Gilbertson said.
"He has no recollection of going back to the club."
