DNA match links man with assault

POLICE have used a DNA match between a human hair and a condom recovered from a local motel room to link a Raglan man to the savage assault and robbery of a Sydney prostitute., Prosecutor Sergeant Brett Donaghy told Bathurst Local Court yesterday the chance of someone else having the same genetic profile as material from the condom and a hair taken from Shayne Robert Wilkins, was 10 billion to one., Wilkins, 26, of Lavis Street, Raglan sat in the dock in prison greens as Sgt Donaghy told the court his victim knew Wilkins as a past client., She identified him as the man who bashed and robbed her in the motel room in the early hours of July 28 last year., The woman's statement said she was asleep after seeing a number of clients when she was woken by a knock on her door at about 4.30am.,
