In total nine players based in the suburb under the tutelage of Rod Schumacher will contest the elite series which will be held at the Bathurst Tennis Centre.
The Champion of Champions event pits the top eight performers from each age group in the Medibank Junior Development Series, which has been held over the past six months across the Central West, against one another in order to crown an overall champion.
The under 10s and 12s age groups have seen the Eglinton players perform particularly strongly.
In the girls’ under 10s, Grace Schumacher and Daisy Hoskins will line up while Harry Brown and Thomas Geyer will take part in the boys’ under 10s competition.
Jack Schumacher, Joe Hoskins Henry Marson and Cameron Redpath will fill literally half the spots in the boys’ under 12s division in a show of Eglinton dominance while Jasmine Thompson takes, her place in the under 12 girls.
Jack Schumacher and Harry Brown both qualified at the top of their division after the Central West rounds of the series.
“They’ve all gone very well,” Rod Schumacher said.
“We have a lot of talented young kids out here, they’re all good mates and play together a lot and they’ve done a great job.
“The quality of juniors in the Central West – especially around Bathurst – is improving all the time, there are so many good young players around so the future looks fairly promising.”
