A day when historic car and motorcycle enthusiasts have the opportunity to find
elusive parts, it is also an event that attracts collectors of models, bric-a-brac antiques and books, said veteran car enthusiast Norm Rutherford.
“If you are after that elusive part for car or bike or a collector, this is the day for you,” Mr Rutherford said. “Nothing beats the thrill of the hunt and finding that unexpected item that someone has dug out of the back of the shed and brought to sell.
“You just never know what will turn up on the day.”
Mr Rutherford said the swap meet hosted by the Bathurst club was one of the largest in country NSW, drawing sellers and buyers from all parts of the state.
Stallholders will be entering the showground after 3pm on Saturday to set up, many of them planning to make it a social outing by camping overnight.
Gates will be opening to the public on Sunday from 6am. Catering will be by the Quota Club and Bathurst East Rotary Club, and admission is only $3 per adult and outdoor sites for exhibiting participants free.
Members of the car club are expected to put on an outstanding exhibition of historic vehicles. All inquiries should be directed to Terry Mahoney, 6331 1995 or 0412 541 396, or John Hodges, 6332 6304 or 0412 814 590.
