The seven-year-olds usually make mum brekkie in bed, then celebrate in the park with their grandmothers.
The girls have been busy during the past week cutting, glueing and making cards for their mum and their grandmothers to show them how special they are.
“For us it is a relaxing day. We spend the day with family and, if the weather is nice, we will go to the park,” Dee said.
Mums do a lot for their children and usually it goes unnoticed, but tomorrow is the day to say thank you for all the little and big things mums do.
Things like making lunches, getting tea, washing up, washing and ironing clothes, dropping off and picking up from sporting events, making sure their children are tucked up warm in bed and that special mum hug that makes all your woes not seem as bad.
Traditionally chrysanthemums are the flowers of choice for Mother’s Day and owner of Pick of the Bunch Florist, Haley Whittaker said they are still the most popular.
“People are buying them by the bunch or, if they are making a bunch, ensuring they are in there,” Haley said.
Being one of the busiest days of the year, behind Valentine’s Day and Christmas, Haley is expecting a surge of last-minute purchases tomorrow.
“We have been busy leading up to Mother’s Day, but Sunday is our busiest day. Most people are buying flowers, but balloons and chocolates have been popular, too,”she said.
