The school recently received a boost to its outdoor learning area, thanks to a generous donation from Bunnings Warehouse Bathurst.
Bunnings supplied the school with a chicken pen, garden beds, seedlings, soil and other equipment including gloves and watering cans.
Co-ordinator Susan Cheevers said the warehouse had been a major supporter of the school’s gardening club.
“Without people or organisations like Bunnings, we wouldn’t have these resources for our children,” she said.
“At the moment, we’re running a lunch time garden club. We have future hopes of adding it to the curriculum.”
The interactive outdoor learning area features garden beds, as well as a compost area, worm farm and fruit trees.
Students meet in the garden at lunch every Monday. They have five minutes of observation time before they set to work building and maintaining the area.
The club is open to all students, from kindergarten to year six, as well as their families. For more information, phone the school on 6337 1205.
