Late last year, as the revolutions across the Middle East were fomenting, a high-ranking member of the Mubarak regime in Egypt called on Sharan Burrow in her office in Brussels. Aisha Abdel Hadi, then minister for manpower and immigration, wanted Burrow to endorse her government's industrial relations policies.
