As an experienced Safety Specialist, you will be committed to providing successful outcomes for all Safety, Environment and Wellbeing (SEW) matters at the Fiona Stanley Hospital. About the role

The Safety, Environment and Wellbeing (SEW) Specialist will play a pivotal advisory role to facilities management personnel on safety, environment and wellbeing matters and will be responsible for providing hands on assistance to ensure legislative compliance and risk mitigation strategies are implemented at Fiona Stanley Hospital.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour;
• Minimum Diploma in Health and Safety;
• Ability to coach, guide and mentor positive SEW behaviours;
• Knowledge and understanding of SEW statutory Health and Safety legislation compliance standards, practices and procedures;
• Extensive experience in a similar role;
• Experience working in a Healthcare environment (desirable);
• Well-developed risk management experience to target critical risk and assessment of critical controls;
• Governance and verification of knowledge and understanding;
• HSE database knowledge and application;
• Injury management and workers compensation knowledge and application;
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
