Correctional Services confirmed the paraglider landed inside the walls of Lithgow jail yesterday.
A spokeswoman said the male paraglider landed on a nature strip in an area that inmates could not access, and it was not an escape attempt.
The man was questioned by Lithgow police and correctional services officers.He has since been released.
