A day after hitting an unbeaten century in a one-day fixture, Dean belted 67 off 36 deliveries to help Weston to a nine-wicket victory over North Canberra Gungahlin in their semi-final.
Dean’s knock included five boundaries and four sixes and took his average in the annual competition to an impressive 108.50. His previous efforts included 87 in round one against Eastlake and 58 against Queanbeyan in round three.
On Sunday North won the toss and batted first, but Weston did well to restrict their rivals to 5-131 from their 20 overs.
Dean opened the batting for Weston and while losing Robert Trickett (19), saw his side home with the help of John Rogers (48).
Dean and his Weston team-mates will face Western District-UC in this Sunday’s grand final.
