The Lagoon native Turnbull and McCarthy, who is currently based at Cobbitty, will represent their state in this year’s championship.
The series begins on Saturday at Globe Derby in South Australia and though facing stiff opposition, both have the talent to succeed.
Both have won at Group level, while Turnbull previously took part in the series in 2014.
“Todd McCarthy was the state’s leading driver last season while Amanda Turnbull was the leading reinswoman in the state,” Harness Racing NSW chief executive John Dumesny said.
“Naturally they both deserve their selection.”
Turnbull is currently ranked the 17th most successful driver in Australia this season with 15 wins and 14 placings, having earned more than $100,000 in stakes.
