Grant set up the opening goal in Sydney FC’s 3-0 semi-final win over Canberra Olympic on Wednesday night and created several more chances at Viking Park.
Sydney will now meet either Tim Cahill’s Melbourne City or Melbourne Victory in the decider of the national knock-out competition.
“It’s the first FFA Cup final in the history of the club and it’s a wonderful feat for the players and for the club,” Sydney coach Graham Arnold said.
It was in the 23rd minute that Grant helped Sydney FC open their account. Team-mate David Carney played a short corner kick to the Central West talent, who then clipped the ball into the centre of the box.
It found the head of Seb Ryall, who steered the ball into the net.
Grant also combined well with Brazilian import Bobo.
