The Natural Spaces and Faces exhibition will open at Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre from 6pm-8pm. This is the first group exhibition of ‘Artshed’, an Artist Run Initiative of artists with and without disability supported by Arts OutWest and Accessible arts.
The exhibition includes photography, painting, weaving and cartooning. Artists involved are Heather Burdette; Nicole Cullen; Alesha Elbourne; Stefan Elbourne; Ian Hazzard; Kelly Hazzard; William Hazzard; John Jones; Lanny Mackenzie; Allegra Salter, Claire Woolmington and Peter Wolsely.
Saturday, December 3
Bathurst Community Alliance will host a fete to celebrate International Day for People with Disabilities at Accessible Living Options at 369 Stewart Street (on the road to Blayney) from 10am to 2pm. Contact ALO, 6338 2345.
The Kelso Public School fete will be held from 9am to 2pm. There will be stalls, rides, fairy floss, pony rides, a visit from Santa, a sausage sizzle, jumping castle, sideshow alley, cake stalls, showbags, hot food, face-painting and live entertainment, plus much more.
Michelle Griffin and Cindy Fox’s Siblings and Spouses, 7.30pm at Mitchell Conservatorium, will explore the complexities of life in a musical family through the work of Fanny and Felix Mendlessohn (siblings) and Clara and Robert Schumann.
The monthly Oberon Farmers’ Market will be held from 9am at the St Barnabas Church grounds. Stallholders will include Lowes Mount Truffles; Jill Stubbs with her range of hand-made socks, aprons and baby knitted wear; and Barbara and Ben Koudran with their home-made breads, pies and pastries.
Nearly 20 art galleries and studios will be open to members of the public on Saturday and Sunday for the Bathurst Arts Trail. Studios and galleries will be open between 10am and 4pm on both days.
