This weekend he is hoping to join his Weston Creek-Molonglo team-mates in being crowned the Douglas Cup champions.
Creek face Tuggeranong in a three-day grand final, which commenced on Friday. It is game Dean will give his all to win.
"I have lost a few grand finals, but you've got to be in it to win it and what's the old saying? You've got to lose one to win one,” Dean said.
"There are a few guys there at Creek who have lost grand finals, so there's a burning desire there.”
Dean belted an unbeaten ton to help Creek into their eighth consecutive grand final and shapes as a potential match winner once more. It is something rival skipper Shane Devoy is aware of.
“Jono’s a fantastic player and he’s shown that over a long period of time,” he said.
