NRMA has revealed the tyre damage hot spots across regional NSW, and Orange and Dubbo both feature in the top 10 locations.
Top of the list was Port Macquarie with 124 call-outs reported for blown, shredded and deflated tyres, during April and May this year.
Orange was second with 75 call-outs, while Dubbo was fourth with 63 calls for damaged tyres.
There were 28 calls for tyre damage in Bathurst during the same two-month period.
NRMA spokesman Peter Khoury could not confirm where Bathurst ranked in the 70 surveyed localities across NSW, however, he said 28 calls was still significant.
Weather and freight are the most common reasons road surfaces get damaged.
“A lot of places on the top of the list had a fair bit of rain over an extended period of time,” Mr Khoury said.
“It gets pretty hard for them [council] to get out there and fix them [potholes].”
Mr Khoury said 80 per cent of nation’s roads are maintained by local councils and some struggle with upkeep.
He praised the NSW Government’s allocation of $500 million in the recent budget to help support local councils in maintaining their roads.
Call-outs for damaged tyres was the second most common reason people call the NRMA, the first is flat batteries.
