At shows in Forbes and Bathurst they’ll perform Haydn String Quartet Op. 77/11, Kats-Chernin-From Anna Magdalena’s Notebook and Schubert’s String Quartet 13 op. 29 D804 ‘Rosamunde’.
While in town, the quartet will run a string workshop to prepare a massed strings item for the Mitchell Conservatorium Winter Showcase Concert on August 20.
Hear them this Friday, August 11 at 7pm at Bathurst’s Mitchell Conservatorium.
American artist
SHEA Peterson is an American artist who moved to Australia in 2011 and to Bathurst in 2015.
He has exhibited internationally and been published in book of contemporary international artists.
His exhibition, opening at 6.30pm on Saturday night at Mad Season Café (in the arcade at 49 William Street), touches on cubist, surrealist, and expressionist techniques with primitivism at its core.
The opening moves onto Tommy’s at 8pm for drinks and a viewing of larger mural works on canvas.
Sea of Sound
THE Inland Sea of Sound Festival headliners have been announced (Bernard Fanning!) and the call is out for local acts to join the festival November 3-4.

For the kids
- The Turon Art Group has received funds through CSU’s community programs to run a Children’s and Youth Art Prize in Sofala at the end of September. There’ll be $1100 in prize money. Contact Mark Leslight 6337 7270. Entries close September 1.
- For the smallest kids, Fun Theatre For The Very Young is back this term, entertaining kids aged 2-6 years in a weekly half hour show Wednesday at 11.30am at the CWA Hall in William Street.
- The only chance to catch the interactive and immersive Saltbush at BMEC is next Monday, August 14 at 6.30pm.
- Phil Braithwaite and Gavin Tipping present a lunchtime program of works for flute and piano Monday, 1pm at All Saints’ Cathedral.
- Keep next Wednesday night, August 16, free for Arts OutWest’s annual Winter Arts Networking at 5pm at Webb & Co.
