In Bathurst as part of a regional tour of Australia, which visits 33 cities across all states and the Northern Territory, Mr Gugnin worked with budding pianists helping hone their technique and talent.
Stephen Champion, Centre Manager said it was great to have someone of Andrey’s calibre working with students, and said it was a great opportunity for young pianists.
Mr Champion said BMEC had a long relationship with the Sydney International Piano Competition of Australia, which enables it to top notch pianists, like Andrey to Bathurst.
MrGugnin said at the masterclass he presented some short pieces to the students as well as tips on how to improve.
He said he told them to pay more attention to the character of the piece, rather than what is written on the score.
