This weekend the coach has another chance at glory in the Basketball NSW competition and while it will not come easily, he feels his side has better prospects this time around.
Having made it into the 2011 grand final, the Goldminers fell 67-58 to a very talented rival.
“We lost to Manly and Manly were the side that deserved to win it, they went through that competition undefeated,” Osborn said.
“That was probably one of the closer results that any side had against them. This year I’d say it is more open.
“I think our bench is stronger now, but skill wise, if you compare the two starting fives, there's not much difference.
“I think the bigs are better, but then when you look at the three ball handlers with what we had then and what we have now, there's not much difference at all.”
