The day will run from 9am-4.30pm and will incorporate the Wool and Horse Festival, which is attracting wide interest this year.
The theme for the festival is “paint the town red” with many residents getting involved by painting and decorating their gates.
After last year was rained out, executive committee member Peggy O’Brien is hoping for good weather.
“It was such a shame that last year was rained out, so we are hoping that this year will make up for that,” Mrs O’Brien said.
Along with the renowned wool competition for the Australian Champion Fleece and the Royal Performance Horse events, the Trunkey Creek Show will feature new attractions this year including woodchopping, a busking competition, duck trials and the draught horse log snig.
“We are hoping to build on the busking competition with more local talent stepping forward,” Mrs O’Brien said.
First prize will be awarded $500 with a special presentation by local musician Mickey Pye.
“He has put a lot of support behind the busking competition so we are glad that we could get him to do the presentation,” Mrs O’Brien said.
The Trunkey Creek Show Society will also be awarding Trevor Henry with life membership in recognition of his contribution and service to the show since its foundation.
“Trevor is committed and passionate about the show, so to be involved since the beginning of the event is a wonderful achievement,” Mrs O’Brien said.
There will be something for everyone with many kid friendly activities such as rides, pet shows and children’s races. Adults will also be entertained with the annual quick shear sensation and historic tractor display.
The show will be proudly supporting Can Assist and the Blayney Care Unit, with them being stationed on the gates so that people can donate to them.
