Bathurst Regional Council thanked residents for their cooperation during the process.
UPDATE, NOON: Residential properties affected by the burst water main have now been limited to Heylin Place, Minna Place and College Road.
St Philomena's School has been supplied with water from a tanker while Towri MACS has closed for the day.
Work on repairing the main is under way.
EARLIER: Residents living in the vicinity of College Road have been advised that a water main has burst near Lloyds Road.
Bathurst Regional Council crews are on site at the burst main to determine the extent of the damage.
Water supply to the area has been affected.
“At this early stage, there will be numerous affected residential properties as well as a school and preschool,” council said in a Facebook post.
“Work on identifying the extent of the outage will continue once the water is turned off.
“Further updates will be provided.”
