On Sunday when Blayney held its first meeting of the season, Turnbull’s Radiant Lodge team picked up three wins, narrowly missed another with a half neck second, and added a third on top of that.
Two of his wins – Rainbow On Fire ($2.40) and The Rath ($3.70) – came in heats of the C0/C1 series to book themselves a spot in the final, which will be staged at Blayney’s November 19 Carnival of Cups meeting.
Mitch Turnbull was in the gig for both 2,000 metres heat wins, seven-year-old mare The Rath posting an all the way win from barrier one while Rainbow On Fire sat in the trail early before prevailing by a neck over Taihape Sunset (Amanda Turnbull).
Blayney’s Carnival of Cups meeting on Sunday will feature the Billy Soo Memorial Blayney Cup as well as a heat of both the Menangle Where Horses Fly Series and Menangle Country Series.
