It’s a simple equation for the home team – win and Australia are off to next year’s World Cup in Russia.
If Australia lose they’re out and Honduras qualify and any scoring draw will see Honduras qualify on the away-goal rule.
A 0-all draw will see the game go to extra-time and if no goals are scored, a penalty shoot-out will occur.
The scores are locked at 0-all after both teams failed to score in Honduras on Saturday morning.
The game was played in the city of San Pedro Sula, which was infamously dubbed the “murder capital of the world” until it was overtaken in early 2016 by the Venezuelan capital Caracas.
Parade, who attended the play-off game against Syria in October, will be decked out in his Socceroos jersey and Australian flag and will be cheering the home to victory.
Keeping on the topic of the World Cup, Sweden caused a massive boil-over to crash Italy out of the tournament for the first time in 1958.
For many, including Parade, seeing Italy tumble out of the World Cup feels like a small bit of justice from the controversy that surrounded a penalty awarded in the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
The decision ultimately cost Australia a quarter-final sport, as the Socceroos lost 1-nil to Italy.
World Cup moves on to quarters
Rugby league fans were treated to a quite spectacular match between New Zealand and Tonga on Saturday, in the Rugby League World Cup match in Hamilton.
Tonga managed to upset their Kiwi rivals, running away with a close 28-22 victory and will now play Lebanon in the quarter-finals.
Australia will play Samoa and New Zealand will take on Fiji, meaning that if the favourites progress, it will be an Australia-New Zealand semi-final.
Hopefully the quarter-finals can dish up some competitive matches.
Parade will, of course, be cheering Australia on to victory on Friday night.
