Apprenticeship Careers Australia’s (ACA) Get Job Ready will give students tools to succeed in interviews as well as helping them with interpersonal skills.
The program combines short blocks of study with work experience at no cost to the participant so they can get a taste of industries and trades.
Brian Selby, ACA’s field officer for Central West and Bathurst, said students will be able to expand on the skills they have.
Students Nathan Mitchell and Monty Giovenco say the program will boost confidence.
“The more you show an employer what you’re capable of, the more they can do for you,” Mr Mitchell said.
“The program is a brilliant opportunity to get a foot in the door, and is definitely an upper hand,” Mr Giovenco said.
Local businesses are urged to become part of the program by offering work experience.
