The two stage project commenced in mid September, with Bathurst Regional Council aiming to lessen the impact of potential flooding in the Perthville village.
“The upstream head wall is expected to be poured over the next few days, with forms in place and reinforcement being finalised,” council’s website states.
“The contractors also have works on the downstream apron well underway.
“Concrete has been poured in one of the wing walls and form work has been stripped.
“Work has commenced to construct the second upstream wing wall with the pouring of the concrete expected to take place on Monday, at which point all upstream works will be complete.”
During the next few days, dewatering of the site and backfilling will occur.
“Sealing of road, in conjunction with asphalt works across bridge to Vale Road, is expected to occur around 21 December, weather permitting,” the website states.
“This will require re-closure of the road to traffic for a period of two days.”
Contracts continue to work on site six and a half days a week following an extension of working hours.
Business in Perthville remain open during the works.
