This weekend may just be the perfect opportunity to put on the cossie and go for a dip in the backyard pool, the Bathurst Aquatic Centre or the local water hole, as the mercury is set to hit a sizzling 36 degrees Celsius on Saturday and 38 on Sunday.

If the forecast being made by Weatherzone is to be believed, it will be the hottest day in Bathurst since February, last year.
For some, Sunday cannot come quicker and for others, like Parade, winter cannot come quicker.
However there’s no use complaining about the hot weather, as it is summer, and it’s better to just talk about the way in which Parade and others cope with hot days.
One great place Parade visited only a few weeks ago is Flat Rock, a camping area near O’Connell off Mutton Falls Road.
It has been a place Parade has been visiting for years and is the perfect spot to lounge around on the large flat rocks in the sun and cool off with a dip in the Fish River.
Another good swimming location is at Grove Creek Falls, near Abercrombie Caves.
While it’s almost an hours drive south of Bathurst, it’s definitely worth the travel time.
Chifley Dam is also a good option but expect the water to be quite occupied on any hot summers day.
Another simple solution to the hot weather is to head down to the Bathurst Aquatic Centre.
Maybe you’re lucky enough that you don’t even have to leave your house, being able to enjoy a cool, refreshing swim in your own pool or a friend’s one.
Lounging around inside may even be another solution, with the air conditioner set to the lowest temperature.
And if all those options fail, well there is always standing in front of the freezer, devouring ice blocks or slowly melting away.
Don’t forget to use sunscreen when going outside, with the ultraviolet (UV) index predicted to be at an extreme level from Thursday up until Sunday.
Monday is expected to be slightly cooler than Sunday, with a high of 33 degrees predicted followed by 32 on Tuesday.
