VERTO, in partnership with Bathurst Regional Council, plans to bring inspirational people to the Central West to give free talks to regional audiences.
“We’re expecting a pretty good turnout because they are pretty incredible people,” CEO Ron Maxwell said.
The first speaker in the series will be John Coutis, someone VERTO has engaged previously for a private function with staff members.
Mr Maxwell said everyone was very moved by his words and were left changed by the experience.
“John has got an absolutely outstanding story, born with a significant disability, had to get his legs amputated, bullied … he is very resilient,” he said. “He is certainly an outstanding inspirational speaker and an outstanding person.”
Mr Coutis’ credentials include being an Australia Day ambassador, inspiring players in the Wallabies rugby union team and speaking to the Australian Olympic Team throughout the Sydney Olympics in 2000.
He will speak at Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre on February 16.
People need to RSVP their attendance by emailing media@verto.org.au or calling 1300 483 786.
