A witness raised the alarm on Sunday morning and when police went to investigate they found a 24-year-old man laying next to his vehicle.
Paramedics were called and the man was taken to Bathurst Base Hospital where he underwent surgery to treat a head injury.
Witnesses are asked to contact Bathurst detectives or phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Tyre and rim stolen
THE tyre and rim of a 2017 Kluger motor vehicle has been stolen from the yards of a dealership in Corporation Avenue.
Police have obtained CCTV footage of the incident that shows a man jacking up the vehicle before taking the tyre and rim.
Car’s window smashed
VANDALS have smashed the window of a motor vehicle that had been parked and left unattended in Piper Street, Bathurst.
The window was damaged some time between 10.30am last Thursday and 6.30am the following day.
It does not appear as though any property was stolen.
Another vehicle parked in Havannah Street was also damaged but again nothing appears to have been stolen.
Break-in at Blayney
THIEVES have broken into a house on the Orange Road, near Blayney.
Police said the offenders rummaged through several rooms before making off with a small amount of jewellery and food.
The break-in occurred sometime between 10.30am and 11.30am on Saturday while the occupant was attending hospital.
