Work is due to start tonight (Wednesday) on the stretch of Durham Street between George and Bentinck streets.
Work involves replacing asphalt on the road to provide a smoother road surface and improve safety for all road users.
To minimise impact to road users, work will be carried out at night between 6pm and 6am until Friday, weather permitting.
Access to properties will be affected while work is carried out and access will be reinstated at the end of each shift.
Changed traffic conditions including lane closures and minor detours will also be in place for the safety of workers and motorists during work hours.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions and follow the direction of signs and traffic control.
