Bathurst MP Paul Toole said had been granted $13,000 to upgrade the ventilation throughout the Morrisset Street building.
Club manager David Hitchick can’t wait to see the project come to fruition.
“It’s a big deal for us because the weather does impact on our operations,” Mr Hitchick said.
“In summer we have trouble getting the heat out, but in winter the problem is keeping the cold out.
“In winter the cold that comes in through the fixed louvre vents at the back court leaves dew on the floor making it slippery while the gym equipment becomes damp.
“Part of the upgrade will allow us to install adjustable vents so we can keep the weather out and avoid these problems.”
Mr Hitchick said the club would also install five solar-powered extraction fans in the ceiling to draw out the heat that just sits there in summer.
Mr Toole urged other community-based organisations with a project that would benefit their group and the wider community to visit www.communitybuildingpartnership.nsw.gov.au to learn more.
Applications for the 2018 Community Building Partnership will be called around the middle of the year.
