IN the light of the admission by Steve Smith that he sanctioned the effective cheating strategy of ball tampering for advantage against the South African team, he should walk away now, and leave cricket altogether for the way in which he has tarnished the game, and the reputation of Australian cricket.

There are so many kids who hold the Australian cricket team as heroes. What kind of example does Mr Smith think he is setting for them?

The matter is clearly visible on camera, and is nuance-free.

Perhaps Steve Smith would be better suited for a career in politics post-cricket. He has clearly lowered respect to that level.
