I SIT to write this letter with many things on my heart and in my mind. It is evening on Saturday, Easter weekend.

I am very aware that the central focus of Christian faith is a cross, where Jesus, the Son of God, became the Lamb of God, a sacrifice for the sins of mankind.
I also know that millions of Christians around the world, in sombre ways, would have recalled the obedience even to death of this carpenter from Nazareth. Then again, these same millions of Christian believers will be singing loudly the resurrection event.
Many around the world in 2018 will surrender their lives in death as a witness to the Risen Christ.
I am also aware that this past week we have been told that the game of cricket has been tarnished by the three players who now are repentant for breaking the rules.
I believe that there will be a change in the way in future this game will be played.
There is for all of us, having broken God’s rules, the opportunity of forgiveness and reconciliation.
As a retired Baptist Pastor, I have so much enjoyed the contest of cricket, played fairly.
I remember the key word of our great Donald Bradman – “integrity”.
That is what our world wants to see in the game of cricket, and also in the lives of those who will sing songs of joy in the morning.
Owning up to the breaking of rules, forgiveness, then a new-found reconciliation.
Happy Easter indeed.
