The region’s main water storage stands on the Campbell’s River at The Lagoon, about 15 kilometres south of Bathurst.
And when Bathurst Regional Council’s regular weekly reading was taken on Tuesday, the figures confirmed the dam level had fallen again, continuing a trend that has lasted more than a month now.
The dam was at 67.5 per cent capacity when a reading was taken on Tuesday, March 13 – down from 70.9 per cent two weeks earlier.
But a lack of rain has seen the level continue to fall and it was sitting at just 62.9 per cent this week, with more than 18,000 megalitres of water in storage.
This time last year the dam was sitting at around 80 per cent of capacity.
In better news, an amber alert for blue green algae at the dam has been lifted and replaced with a lower green level alert.
The dam remains open to the public for all water-related recreational activities.
