Most state governments and local councils have provided grants to fund and assist groups of young people to organise events during Youth Week.
This helps to ensure that young people are involved in all aspects of Youth Week including the planning, development and management of activities.
You might be just starting high school or an electrician finishing an apprenticeship. You might be about to get your learner’s licence or you are a paramedic saving lives, but you can all get involved in the diverse range of activities happening for Youth Week.
It is the single largest celebration for young people aged between 12 and 25 across Australia, there are hundreds of events planned throughout the country and thousands of young people will join in the fun.
In 2017 more than 23,000 people from across Victoria alone participated in Youth Week activities.
There’s everything from dance classes, photography and drama workshops, music and performing arts festivals, art classes and talent shows to obstacle courses, colour runs, sporting events and so much more.
Make sure you check the Youth Week websites to see what’s happening in your local area and get involved.
