CSU has $100,000 to give in grants, with the five categories – arts and culture, education, sport, Indigenous and Head of Campus – having $20,000 each.
CSU vice chancellor Professor Andrew Vann said the CUP program is great way to support the community.
“We have a mission at CSU to support groups in the community grow and flourish,” he said.
“We want those groups to make their own contribution to the community through the grants.
“This is a great thing to do, to deliver these grants.”
Previously, community groups have received amounts of $500 to $1000 or even more.
“These may seem like a small amount compared to our university budget but they make a big difference,” Professor Vann said.
“I’m proud of the tradition CSU has of working with the communities in Bathurst.
“We’re interested in finding new ways to work with the community.”
Applications for the CUP grant program can be find online at the CSU website at www.csu.edu.au/about/community/partnerships/grants.
