Secretery Susan Morris said the exhibition is being held as part of the greater Australian Heritage Festival, which runs from April 18 to May 20.
The collection of memorabilia to be featured includes the photos, information and oil paintings of horse The Barb, Sappho racing memorabilia and the pedigree of Merriwee, a horse trained by George Lee that won a Melbourne Cup and two Sydney Cups.
However, the most significant piece on display will be the 1870 Sydney Cup won by George Lee’s Barbelle.
Lee was the grandfather of Miss Traill.
“It is kept in a bank vault, but Miss Traill had stipulated that it be shown to the public once a year,” Ms Morris said.
“It is one of only 12 pieces of that type of gold in Australia, so it is very valuable.”
The exhibition will be held from 12pm to 3.30pm on Saturday and Sunday.
People can also enjoy self-guided tours of Miss Traill’s House and the accompanying garden during the exhibition.
“You can walk through the house this weekend so you can get a sense of history of this National Trust property,” Ms Morris said.
Entry to the exhibition is $10 for adults, $8 for concession and $6 for children.
