THE NRMA is making great strides with a multi-million dollar refurbishment of the Panorama Holiday Park after its acquisition of the site late last year.

At the time of acquisition, the NRMA said it planned to invest $2.4 million into the park to bring it up to the high standard it likes to deliver to guests.
The park, now named NRMA Bathurst Panorama Holiday Park, contains a total of 163 sites, made up of 30 cabins, 72 powered camp sites, 44 unpowered camp sites and 5 ensuite sites.
NRMA Holiday Parks CEO Paul Davies said work is under way on the extensive upgrade of park facilities.
“The main amenities building has undergone a complete refurbishment, while infrastructure to upgrade roads and utilities continues to provide improvements,” he said.
“Older style cabins are being replaced with a mix of quality and affordable new accommodation options for families, couples and groups.
“Caravan sites are being upgraded with new water, sewer and power connections and private ensuite facilities for eight additional caravan sites are set to be completed mid-year.”
The NRMA’s plans also include improvements to the park’s recreational offerings.
“A new themed, state-of- the-art experience is also under development for the recreation precinct to complement the existing heated pool, jumping pillow and guest lounge,” Mr Davies said.
Mr Davies doesn’t regret the NRMA’s acquisition of the park, which is part of a stable of 37 holiday parks.
“The NRMA is thrilled with our acquisition and we are already experiencing increased visitation from road trippers, regional travelers and business people passing through,” he said

Like many other accommodation providers, the park is on track to being fully booked for race week.
“Historically we always have a lot of interest around the Bathurst 1000 which we continue to see this year and our regulars do tend to book up to 12 months in advance to secure their spot as it’s a popular place to stay,” Mr Davies said.
