In particular, I would like to thank our supreme partner Reliance Bank and principal partners including the Western Advocate.
We must also specifically thank Bathurst Regional Council for their significant contribution to ensuring this milestone event occurred. Whether it's their support of our Community Stage, the supreme exhibit awards or the many ways in which staff and councillors assist us in the course of organising the event, they deserve every credit for supporting the oldest community event in our region.
We also take this opportunity to announce the winners of the pinnacle prizes at our show, the Bathurst Regional Council Awards for Excellence.
These were judged over the show from qualifying champion and supreme champion exhibits and cannot be awarded until all judging is completed on Sunday afternoon and qualifying exhibits are determined.
The judging was assisted by the Deputy Premier of NSW, John Barilaro, and the Minister for Lands, Paul Toole.
The supreme static exhibit for 2018 was awarded to Anne Bromfield of Yetholme for her champion open cake decoration exhibit depicting 150 agricultural shows in Bathurst.
The supreme livestock exhibit for 2018 was awarded to the standardbred stallion, I'm Blue Double Dee, owned by Judy Frisby of Perthville and Jenny Turnbull of The Lagoon.
Full results for the 2018 Reliance Bank Royal Bathurst Show will be published on our website progressively.
