The session will give people the opportunity to speak to mental health clinicians and managers in an informal manner and ask questions about services available in the region.
Consumer and carer co-ordinator Jennifer Coote said the event was a good opportunity for people to come and have an informal chat with the Local Health District about mental health.
“Having a relaxed chat about mental health in an informal manner is something we want to give our local communities the opportunity to be part of,” she said.
“Sometimes people may feel uncomfortable talking about mental health, so we want to provide a relaxed environment for people to turn up and talk to us about their concerns, or the concerns they may have for a loved one.
“We want to engage with our local communities and open a conversation on the very important topic of mental health, so we’d encourage you to pop down and have a cuppa and a chat with us.”
The session is on Thursday, May 24, from 3-4pm at Community Mental Health at Bathurst Hospital. RSVP to bryan.billington@health.nsw.gov.au.
